This academic year, we have started a new collaboration with Aalto University to support students taking part in the Volta27 Inland Waterways Design Challenge. The challenge brings academia and industry together to explore vessel and service design for more sustainable navigation on Europe’s lakes and rivers.

As part of the collaboration, we will provide students a closer look at naval architecture and boat design in practice: welcoming them to our office, sharing our experience through a guest lecture by colleague Jean Munck, and design feedback sessions.

For us, supporting the next generation of boat designers means sharing what we know and helping students connect their ideas with the practical realities of our work. It is a chance to bring education and industry closer together and support the people who may be designing the vessels of tomorrow.

We are looking forward to seeing where their ideas take them.
