Not your typical workboat: the Serecraft S14 can withstand the rigours of the Arctic
The Serecraft S14 is an ice strengthened vessel designed for various arctic operations. A strong aluminium hull is one feature that ensures successful navigation in such demanding conditions; its heated deck, improving crew comfort and safety, is another.
The design brief was an expedition grade craft that could serve as a workboat, a floating classroom and a laboratory. Each of these functions made its own demands on space, not to mention specialist equipment, such as winches, cranes, and line hauling devices.

One challenge, therefore, lay in designing the boat such that it served all its intended purposes. Others lay in ensuring its equipment was positioned for efficiency, and in complying with the client’s request for plentiful berths.
We delivered a design that met every single requirement, including extra sleeping areas for longer expeditions with an ample crew. Our work on the boat also included preparatory solutions to comply with expected future regulations, and a variety of optional features.
