Fjord 39 XL & XP

Fjord 39 XL & XP

One hull philosophy, two drive concepts — engineered for a sporty feel and predictably controlled behavior.

The FJORD 39 platform was developed as two distinct personalities on the water: 39 XL (inboard) and 39 XP (outboard). Both aim to deliver the brand’s signature blend of open‑deck freedom and high‑confidence handling — without turning the helm into a guessing game when speed, trim, load, or sea state changes.

Our scope covered naval architecture and detailed design/engineering, carried through as a co‑creation process with FJORD’s in‑house design and engineering team. That collaboration mattered, because this project isn’t just “a boat” — it’s a production platform with multiple layouts and two fundamentally different propulsion packages. Getting the sporty feel right while keeping behavior predictable requires discipline in balance, weight control, and engineering details that don’t show up in brochure renders.

From a hull standpoint, the focus was on delivering:

  • Sporty response when you lean on the throttles and start driving the boat properly.

  • Predictable, sure‑footed behavior through turns, across chop, and during trim changes.

  • A controllable, confidence‑building envelope that suits both experienced drivers and owners who value ease at the dock and at speed.

On deck, the 39 is unapologetically social: a large, open cockpit and flexible arrangements that can switch between dining, lounging, and sunbathing — without compromising the clean walkaround movement that defines the FJORD experience. Below deck, the cabin and head are packaged for real usability rather than token overnighting.

“Sporty doesn’t have to mean nervous. The goal was simple: crisp handling you can trust.”
