A 44-foot adventure platform engineered to high seas.
XO’s EXPLR 44 is built for owners who don’t wait for “perfect boating weather.” From day one, the design intent was clear: deliver solid all‑weather performance while keeping the experience sharp, quiet, and reassuring at speed.
Our contribution focused on naval architecture and production‑ready detailed engineering—developed in tight co‑creation with XO’s in‑house design and product team. The result is a serial‑production platform where the design language and the engineering logic reinforce each other instead of fighting for space.
A key hydrodynamic target was reducing the planing hump—that awkward transition zone where many boats feel bow‑high, inefficient, and impatient. By shaping the running surfaces and balance to get on top of the water with less drama, the EXPLR 44 is tuned for clean acceleration, confident mid‑range behavior, and sustained fast cruising. The deep‑V approach supports predictable handling in rougher water, while the structural concept aims to keep stiffness high and unwanted vibration low—exactly what you want when “all‑weather” is more than marketing.
This project is a good example of how we like to work: fast iteration with the client’s internal team, clear performance targets, and engineering detail carried all the way to a buildable, repeatable production package.
